01. VIBRATION GROUP

           Immersive Opera, 2019. 
Guests can visit the Vibration Group’s spaceship, an immersive installation activated by the group’s members. Eventually, guests will take part of "Group Therapy," a musical journey through the emotions of traveling through fractured space, missing home on a fraught Earth.


VR Spa: Earthness

Earthness is our guided meditation simulating fantastical scenes from Earth wherein nostalgiac members of the Vibration Group can perform grounding exercises.













User Flow
  1. A member of the ship invites guests of the ship to partake in Earthness as a focus groups for it's development.
  2. The group is lead to their seats and lead through putting on the equipment.
  3. The Crystal Controller is used to align one's energy towards Earth, and see their vibrations reflected in their surroundings.
  4. Earthness rations how long each person can stay in the simulation.
  5. Once finished, the guests are thanked for improving Earthness by donating their datamined images of Earth through the crystal to make the simulation more realistic.


Information Portal Touch Kiosk

Inspired by public library kiosks and office portals, the Vibration Group shares a portal with a constellation of sister ships to share calendar events, resources, and check on the ship.



The content within the kiosk was co-designed in speculative workshops I facilitated where performers not only designed their characters and improvised as them but also submitted research or events based on their characters interests.

A touch screen experience installed into a cabinet for passersby. Built in HTML/CSS/JS and Photoshop with content sourced from members of the entire group.


02. STARCAST

           Interactive Livestream, 2020.




In response to Covid-19, VIBRATION GROUP postponed touring our immersive spaceship opera. I pitched a new way for our group to engage guests: an interactive broadcast where different members of the cast can share experimental offerings of knowledge and healing.

To support this vision, I hosted world-building speculative design exercises to gather materials from our members, developed a run of show with Anna Luisa Petrisko and collaborated with Ana Carolina Estarita Guerrero to develop our own broadcast framework framework was developed in Touch Designer. A/V cues are triggered from a remote controlled from a node.js webapp with web sockets.



User Flow

  1. The Vibration Group connects to our host on Earth and their guests in response to distress signals received from Earth.
  2. We guide guests through guestures to beam onto our ship.
  3. Once connected, guests are guided to each member of the ship who use various experimental methods for healing, inquiry, and self reflection.
  4. Research questions are further facilitated in the chat by our community moderators.
  5. Transmit guests back to Earth through our Energy invocation.
